A skin lesion can be removed surgically by cutting it out of your body. According to The British Skin Foundation, around 13 million people per year visit their GP with a skin complaint.
What is a skin lesion?
A skin lesion appears on your skin in any part of your body an looks different or abnormal to the area of skin surrounding it. These lesions include moles, skin tags, cysts and blisters. Not all skin lesions are cancerous and these are unlikely to spread, but others can be cancerous and need treatment or even removal.
Treatment
Skin lesions are treated by dermatologists who specialise in the treatment of skin conditions. It is recognised by The British Association of Dermatologists, that there are over 2000 different types of skin disorders and we recommend that these are best treated by qualified consultant dermatologists.
