The treatment of skin diseases are changing and most of the chronic skin diseases such as eczema, psoriasis, hidradenitis suppurativa, vitiligo and alopecia are now getting recognised hence research has now gone into these areas understanding the diseases more, treatments are now targeting specific pathways of inflammation cascades and these treatments block certain communications between cells which propagate the inflammation. Initial treatments such as TNF alpha blockers have now advanced to interleukin blockers and more modern ???? therapies, these therapies will be discussed during your consultation and offered as well, unfortunately in the private sector these treatments are available however the cost of these treatments need to be considered, if you are on biological therapies Dr Elangasinghe and his team is happy to provide you with the monitoring facilities for such treatments.
