On some occasions patients can end up with unnecessary antibiotics as it has been considered to be cellulitis but the majority of the time when bilateral red legs it is not the case, patients suffer from chronic inflammation and destruction of fatty tissue leading to thickening of the skin and finally leading to permanent damage of the anatomy of the legs leading to an inverted champagne bottle appearance. These patients require long term treatment and changes/modifications to their lifestyle. Dr Elangasinghe and his team has the ability to recognise the patients lifestyle and tailor make their treatment to improve the quality of life for such patients.
